Lisbane Summer Fete

Starting with a Jubilee Year event in 2001, a successful mid-summer Community Fete was revised and has become an annual event.

The annual Lisbane Summer Fete and Family Fun was scheduled to happen on Thursday 21 August 2008 in a field near to the Community House on the Lisbarnett Road. Sadly, due to the horrendous weather which made the field waterlogged, it had to be cancelled. The raffle draw took place and winners were notified, and the children's competition was judged and they too received their prizes. It was very disappointing for the committee members who put a lot of time and effort into organising it but as much as we would like to we cannot control the weather. Hopefully next year will be more successful and the organising committee is actively working on a programme for all ages, these will include

  • Inflatables
  • Stalls - craft, vegetable and plants etc
  • Barbecue
  • Vintage Tractors/cars
  • Killinchy Silver Band
  • Balloon Race
  • Children's Art Competitions
  • Community Police
  • Raffle
  • The Owl Man
  • Happy Hedgehogs
  • ASSISI
  • The Lisbane Welly Boot Throwing Championship
  • Climbing Wall
  • Laser Clay Pidgeon Shooting

If you have any Ideas to help make it an even bigger success for next year please contact the Community office on 97 542717. Volunteers for the 2009 Fete will most welcome!
