Calling all mums, dads, grannies, granddads and child-minders. Do you have a couple of hours free on a Thursday morning? If so, why not join us at the Community Centre every week from 10.00 am- 12.00pm.

The Parent & Toddler Group was set up in 1998 following a community survey where the need for such a facility became apparent. Our Parent and Toddler Group fulfils several roles. It provides a fun and safe environment for the children and a chance to integrate with their peers. It is often the first step for many parents who have just moved to the area to get to meet their neighbours. Everyone who attends feel very comfortable and at ease to discuss their problems and seek advice from the other parents, grandparents and childminders who attend the group.

The Group meet every Thursday morning during term time. We have a steady core of adults who attend while we provide a meeting place for mothers on maternity leave - and very often their child has been able to continue to attend as it is brought along by its grandparent or childminder once the mother has returned to work.
Each week we have on average 15 children, ranging in age from 6 months - 4 years old.

There are plenty of things for the children to enjoy. Ride-ons, painting and craft for the older children and soft toys, blocks and puzzles for the 'little ones'.

Break-time is a firm favourite with both children and adults alike. Toast and juice or tea and coffee helps keep the energy levels up for the next round of games, playing and a sing-song.


Every year we have a Halloween Party and Christmas Party as a special treat for the children. This would not be possible without the continued support of the parents both in fund-raising and hands-on help every week. The group also organises outings for the children and nights out for the adults throughout the year.
